Topical Authority Mapping for B2B Industrial Distributors โ Productised Service
Productised topical authority mapping for B2B industrial distributors. WDF*IDF-grounded, entity-mapped, AI-Overview-ready. 12-week deliverable. Fixed scope, fixed price.
What this productised service actually delivers
Alfred told you in the v15 content-ops-at-scale cornerstone that distributors with 50,000+ SKUs cannot win on ad-hoc content. They win on a complete topical map โ an explicit, defensible model of every entity, intent, and query in your domain, mapped to specific pages, with internal link governance and content cadence.
This service ships that map in 12 weeks.
The 7-deliverable scope
1. Entity inventory. Every product family, sub-family, attribute, certification, standard, end-use vertical, application, geography, brand, and manufacturer in your catalogue, modelled as a graph. We start from your PIM (or build a PIM-shadow from your ecommerce database) and enrich with Wikidata, schema.org Product taxonomy, GS1 Web Vocabulary, and your industry's domain ontology (Eclass, UNSPSC, NIGP, CPV depending on geography and procurement frame).
2. Query / intent map. For every entity, the full intent set โ informational, navigational, commercial, transactional, GEO-AI โ sourced from search-console data, third-party search-volume estimates, Reddit / Stack Exchange / specialised forum scraping, and engineering-buyer interview transcripts.
3. Page-type taxonomy. Each intent maps to a specific page type โ PDP, parametric category, vertical landing, application landing, brand landing, certification page, glossary entry, blog cornerstone, blog comparison, blog teardown, blog calculator. The taxonomy makes future content decisions deterministic.
4. WDFIDF target dictionary per page type. For every page type, the term-weighting target โ the set of terms whose statistical co-occurrence Google associates with topical mastery โ calculated from a corpus of top-10 ranking pages for the relevant cluster. (See the WDFIDF formula cornerstone and the applied case study for the methodology.)
5. Internal link graph specification. Hub-and-spoke and cluster topology, with anchor-text governance, contextual / sidebar / footer link policy, and crawl-depth targets for every page tier.
6. Build / cadence plan. Which pages get built in which order, with which authoring resources, against which deadlines, with which success metrics, to fill the map fully over 18-24 months.
7. AI-Overview citation hooks. For each cluster, the citation-engineering hooks โ the standards, statistics, certifications, glossary entries, primary-source documents โ that get cited by Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, ChatGPT-search, Bing Copilot, when buyers ask the cluster's defining questions.
Who this is for
A mid-market B2B industrial distributor with $20M-$500M in revenue, 5,000-500,000 SKUs, an existing ecommerce stack, and either an in-house content team or external authoring partners who need a strategic map to execute against. The output is platform-agnostic โ you can execute the map on Shopify Plus, BigCommerce B2B, Adobe Commerce, Oro Commerce, Drupal Commerce, SAP Commerce Cloud, or any other stack.
What it costs and what you get
Fixed price: $48,000, paid 50/50 at kickoff and at deliverable acceptance. 12-week timeline. Output is a 200-300 page strategic document, an Airtable / Notion / Coda database of every page in your topical map, an internal-link graph in Neo4j-importable format, and a 90-minute kickoff session with the team that will execute against the map.
If you also want Lobit to execute against the map, the 12-month topical-authority program runs in parallel from week 4 forward and the $48,000 maps fee is credited against the first three months of the retainer.
When this is the wrong service
If you have fewer than 1,000 SKUs, you don't need a productised topical map โ a 4-week strategy engagement is sufficient. If you operate in a single vertical (one product family, one end-use), you also don't need the full map. Alfred will tell you upfront if the scope is over-engineered for your business.
Pricing and proof
$48,000 fixed, 12-week timeline, output guaranteed against an acceptance criteria checklist set at kickoff. Alfred has the SOW template ready.
